These coils are used in conjunction with any of the Thermo International induction heating machines.
They are used to heat a rolled in tube stub that was pressed into a tube sheet. The rapid heating to temperatures approaching 2400 degrees F makes the tube stub material malleable, thus collapsing on itself because the tune sheet remains relatively cool in comparison. When the stub end of the tube cools it can easily be removed or while it’s still hot, hydraulics are used to pull the stub out of the tube sheet. Heating times vary from 10 seconds to 1 minute per tube.
Coils can be made for 1” ID to 4” ID tubes as needed given enough lead time. Coil pricing is from $475 to $850 each. Coils last from 50-100 heats on average when treated carefully. Used coils can be refurbished for $155.00 each
When Hydraulics are used the tube is cut about 12-24” from the tube sheet and a hole cut through the side, a hydraulic cylinder with a special nose is placed over the tube and a bar inserted through the hole, when pressure is applied the hydraulics pull on the bar and thus the tube extracting it from the tube sheet while its heated and malleable.
